Dolorosa is a small band out of Germany. Their sound
on this three song demo, which is nicely packaged in a neat DVD case, resembles the sound
of American bands like Mineral and The Appleseed Cast (Ring Wars era).
"Elisabeth" and "Grace" are your typical emotional rock songs, but
they work nicely. "Architecture" finishes the album in a very funereal way, and
is the highlight of the album. Lead singer Thorsten Link provides us with very nice
lyrical work on this disc.
The band recently added a keyboardist and violinist to the group, expanding the
group to five members. These new additions will hopefully allow the band to expand their
sound in the future. This demo is nothing groundbreaking, but there are hints of potential
here. I'll be watching these guys.
